the incredible karst formations of vietnam’s ha long bay. its etymology is sino-vietnamese for “descending dragon” and i don’t think there is any more apt name for it. completely other worldly and is a place i’ve now tacked on my “must visit before dying” sites. on a similar note, the more i read about the vietnam war in class the less and less any of it makes sense. but i suppose that’s the point.
